Q: How high above your roof does this stick up? In other words, how much height does it add to the camper/trailer?

A: The vent extends above the roof when closed it's 3.8 inches and when open it's 11.8 inches.

Q: How to install the fan?

A: 

1. Mark desired location for the vent. Be sure to choose a location between roof joists.
2. Cut a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" opening through the roof and ceiling. (Or use the existing opening if you're replacing a standard 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" vent.)
3. Apply sealant to the bottom of the flange. Be sure to surround each screw hole.
4. Insert vent through the hole with screen frame extending through roof cavity and hinge of vent toward the front of the vehicle.
5. Mount to the roof with the screws.
6. Connect to a 12-volt DC power source.
7. Attach the interior garnish piece with the screws.
