I had used a couple of different stand-up weed pullers in the past that broke after short usage. So, I was skeptical about buying this but I've used it a couple of times and am really impressed with the results. It works. I generally don't post pictures - but this one, I had to! Look at the size of the dandelion root!
This thing is stinking incredible. It should come standard when you get a house. My yard was full of weeds from the last owner, and I filled two buckets full of weeds with this thing in 20 minutes. See photo attached, I had some serious weeds and it got them all in one go, even enormous ones.
This is a genius invention and the design is amazing. I have gotten hours of enjoyment taking on the weed beasts in my yard. We had a new septic system put in and when then reseeded there were as many dandelions as grass seeds. Popping them up is almost relaxing.
I can't express enough how much I love this thing already. It's exactly what I expected and needed, light and easy to use. It really does remove the entire root easily! I did initially worry that it may break in areas that have rocks, like my garden bed, but it's holding up well after my first hour of work.
Yes, this is partially made of plastic, but that keeps it lightweight and inexpensive. Just because it's plastic, doesn't mean it's poorly designed. This has worked well for me, so long as I don't try it when the soil is too dry and hard. The weed will snap and the roots will not come up. Wait for rain and the soil to loosen, then it works well.
