Easy to use electric compactor. We used it to compact base for side walk at our new house. It worked really well. Fairly light duty so only thin 1-2 inch layers each time. Fairly light weight so we can move it easily on a wagon.
This unit is easy to move around and operate. I love not dealing with gas engines. The trade off is you have to be patient. It takes a bit longer than its gasoline counterparts, but for most projects it's great. If you understand its power and limitations, you will love it. Worked great for retaining wall base and crushed granite walkways. Use light water must on fine dirt or it will just make dust.
It works great, compacted an area roughly 15 x25 ft. to install pavers and worked great. I'm surprised by the quality and ease of use, it's heavy, portable and gets the job done. It was worth the money, I figured It would have cost me 2 trips to the rental store and at least $200 out of my pocket. Since I plan on doing some more work in the future, the machine looks durable and will pay for itself.
Works great, much more user friendly, precise, and cleaner than the gas versions.
I tried a 300 watt lithium ion pack, but it wouldn't run the unit. I tried my heavier 1200 watt unit and it ran fine, so I compacted my walkways using only about 15% charge over 30 minutes of use. It will also run on a 10-lb 600 watt power supply, much easier on my back! I'm compacting crushed limestone with this unit and and it does a great job!
