Used on truck in order to get into truck bed easier.
Not really using it for the step bumper. I wanted something simple that could protect my bumper. I bought this for a 2020 Toyota Tacoma, double cab tow hitch. Hoping to save my bumper, as people are as distracted as ever in parking lots and when in stop and go traffic. it comes with a standard hitch pin and clip, but anytime I put something in the tow hitch I use one of the hitch locks with a key. Simple fix so it doesn't walk away. In the second picture you can see that I pushed it all the way into the last holes so it sticks out about 4 inches. It has many more holes so you can adjust accordingly, but I just wanted that extra bit of cushion. I can easily see it in the rearview camera's view.
I have a full size van modified into a class B motorhome (camper van). It can be difficult to see the rear when backing, despite the camera. But more importantly, other drivers tend to back into long vehicles in parking lots. This protector adds just enough protection against someone backing I to my vehicle. It looks good and is as sturdy as the big name brands. I can also stand on it to reach my backup camera to clean it or to reach the top of the rear doorway.
This was an essential item for me since I'm short. Now I can easily check the roof of my car.
Installation was a breeze. Gives defense for your bumper and a step to stand on.
