This performed flawlessly. Knocked it in with a hammer, put an impact wrench on it and let ‘er rip while applying plenty of downward pressure. This got the job done.
Works great. Use the mallet to get it in as far as you can so it bites. Then use the ratchet to slowly turn it out while keeping pressure on the tool, until it breaks loose.
During my first attempt the extractor was not biting onto the drain wall, and hence moving freely when I tried to turn it. Driving the extractor into the drain by hitting it hard with the hammer - made all the difference!
