Goes right in any 2" receiver tube - I used a double over/under so that I can add an extension for additional weight above it. Cuts a nice narrow rip through the sod (mostly rocks and gravel) that acts as my driveway. I was actually giggling over how good it actually works.
Have since used it to break up an area of yard to expand the garden, more silt fence in another location, and broke up a couple trenches to bury some 4" corrugated for downspouts from the shop. Love this, would definitely buy it again, and would recommend it to anyone else.
Great ripper. I used it to make a tool for installing invisible dog fence. Also, a 1.25" receiver hitch will slide inside of the ripper's receiver tube. I did this so that I could run a gauge wheel behind the assembly. Installed 1300' of wire in less than an hour.
Good for the price. Once i got it to fit the hitch, it worked great.
Had a few large roots I wanted to take out of the lawn so the grass can grow better. Got the ripper, put the pin it, drove it over the root, dropped it... boom! It will pull out the root either by driving forward, which also pulls up due to the curved shank, or you can also just pull up with the 3 point. The roots didn't stand a chance and got it all done in 30 min. Great tool! May try this also to rip up part of the lawn for a garden.
