I found a small nail in the rear tire of my FJR1300, left of center. The tire was fairly new, so I wanted to plug it in rather than replace it. I liked the idea of the mushroom plugs rather than the 'ropes' of the less-expensive kits. The kit is fairly easy to understand and use. This was perfect, as the back end of the mushroom plug was sticking out of the tire after I removed the nozzle. Using the included knife to cut this part of the plug off was simple, and I was ready to roll pretty quickly. The kit doesn't include a way to inflate the tire, so having a portable air system for when you're on the road is a must. I inflated the tire and let it sit overnight; the next morning, there was no appreciable loss of air in the tire. I was a little nervous during the first ride on the repaired tire, but everything went well. I've put about 400 miles on the tire since the repair, and feel very confident that the repair will be good until the tire itself wears out. I highly recommend this product!
Just plugged my motorcycle tire so far so good. Was super easy and fast to use. The tire is still holding air I will post an update if it changes but this was definitely a good buy that saved me tons of money!
Got a flat while riding on my Honda ST1300. Used the standard rope plug to repair. Rode about 25 miles, and the plug was gone. Inserted another rope plug, and rode another 15 miles home, and that plug was working its way out. Used this mushroom plug kit and installed the plug, no leaks, and easier to install. Several days now and still holding until a new tire arrives. I feel much more confident in this product.
These plugs worked great to repair the screw puncture in my rear motorcycle tire. The kit has very good directions for use of the tool and got it right the first time it was used. Comes in a zip-up case that will keep in the saddle bag from now on. Big upgrades over string plugs have been used in the past.
Having successfully used the old style messy gooey type of plug for years, I wanted to try something a little cleaner. The tools that are included in this kit are heavy-duty and seem quite durable. The screw-in design of the tool makes it fairly easy to get the plug inside. At first, I wasn't sure that I had a good seal but after several days, the pressure seemed to have held. Now, months later, the plug is still holding.
