This tool is great and works as described. I've drained my water heater annually, which is a tedious task. But my hot water would still have a dingy color to it. This tool is attached easily and OH MY GOSH! The lingering sediment I was able to see draining from my heater! Yuck! This tool is a must for any homeowner who maintains their appliances.
Most homeowners just get a water heater and expect it to die in 7-10 years and then pay 1.5-2K for a plumber to put in a new one. Well the good news it's not hard, and that's coming from a guy who's installed 2 in the past year for friends because they fail at the worst times. With a little bit of maintenance, you can effectively double the life of your water heater. This product helps so much with that! With a little bit of air (I used up to 80 PSI which was severe overkill) and you open up the right faucets and etc you can knock all of the crap loose.
Amazing Tool. Must have for all home owners. Saved some bucks using it. You can do it all by yourself. Simple instructions. Just get one and u will see what has been building in the water heater.
Our water is so hard! It is terrible for my friend's hair who is a blonde. The shower would turn her hair orange. Thought about getting one of those shower filter things but heard my water heater might have a lot of calcium build-up. There was a bunch of crud built up at my drain valve, and the tool broke it up pretty easy. It seems to work pretty good at grabbing stuff out of the tank. Before when we just flushed the tank for 10 minutes, it came out clear, but I think it was all just crusted in there. This tool helps break it up. It takes a little time if you want to drain the whole tank, but I was determined to get a bunch of stuff out. We sort of figured it out, and I'm pretty confident we would not have been able to do this without the tool. Worked for Us!It's been only a week and already seeing a huge difference! No more orange hair 🤣
So I hadn't done a flush on my hot water heater in a couple years. I decided it was time and I seen this on a reel on the gram. So I bought one with a bike pump. And it works really well. It took me just over an hour as I hadn't done it in years. I plan to do it again in a month or two as I think I didn't get it all.
